At gengive håb, intentioner og løfter

Når vi gengiver en intention, et håb eller et løfte, bruger vi et passende udsagnsord efterfulgt af en 'that'-sætning med 'would' eller en sætning med to+navnemåde. Udsagnsord brugt i dette mønster omfatter: hope, promise, threaten, guarantee, & swear. Bemærk, at ordet 'that' er valgfrit, når man bruger en that-sætning, som i det første eksempel herunder.
